Shvedova injured her hip in Akapulko tournament

Kazakhstan tennis professional Shvedova has got a hip injury in Women Tennis Association tournament in Mexican Acapulco, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Sportlive.kz. Shvedova has played two sets in the final match against Romanian Edina Gallovits, but failed to start the third one. According to the player her injury is not so serious and she hopes to recover in the nearest future. “I have injured my hip and had to pull out from the match today. I am very disappointed but now I have a week to prepare for the next tournaments,” Shvedova said. Meanwhile one more Kazakhstan tennis professional Sesil Karatantcheva reached the main draw of the tournament by winning over Portuguese Maria Joao Koehler with a score of 2:6, 6:4, 6:2. Karatantcheva will start playing against Sweden Johanna Larsson in the main draw of the tournament.
