Kazakhstan bandy team lost to Russia 6:8 in World Bandy Championship in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports. Russian team was the leader of bets at bookmakers offices before the match. However, the beginning of the match was not so successful for the guests' team. Kazakhstan team opened the score and kept the lead for a long time. Russian players restored the balance in the middle of the first half, but then missed an attack and Kazakhstan was ahead once again. However the second leadership didn't last long. Russia tied the score and gripped the lead and scored two goals soon after. Kazakhstan players didn't give up and replied with two goals as well. The first half of the match ended with the even score of 4:4. There was a fair competition in the beginning of the second half. The Russian team that currently holds the world champion kept the lead until Kazakhstan's team counterattacked and scored one goal. The score became even again after a successfully converted penalty into Kazakhstan's gates. Russia scored three more goals and Kazakhstan scored one before the final whistle of the referee. Earlier Kazakhstan team played three matches in the World Bandy Championship. The players coached by Aleksey Nikishov flattened the Norway and American teams, but yielded the victory to the Sweden team. Kazakhstan sportsmen will play the last group match against Finland today, on February 2.
