Tengrinews.kz – More than 5,000 foreign tourists have arrived in Almaty for the Champions League group stage match between Kairat and Real Madrid, according to the city’s tourism department citing data from the e-Qonaq system.
The historic game will take place tonight, September 30, at Central Stadium, marking Kairat’s first-ever home match in the tournament.
Officials said that between September 26 and 29, over 5,000 international visitors came to Almaty for the match. Including fans traveling from other regions of Kazakhstan, the total number of tourists reached tens of thousands.
“The main flow of tourists came from China, India, Russia, as well as Japan, the UK, Spain, the Czech Republic and other countries,” the tourism department reported.
To ensure safety, Almaty police deployed 2,382 officers. Security checkpoints are equipped with metal detectors and scanners, while ambulances and fire crews remain on standby. After the match, 60 buses will be provided to help fans return home.
The broadcast will begin at 21:35 on Qazaqstan and Qazsport TV channels, with online streaming available on their official websites.
