Kazakhstani athlete Olga Rypakova has won bronze in Women’s Triple Jump at the World Championship in Beijing, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

Rypakova, the London Olympics winner competed for the third place with the Bulgarian Gabriela Petrova. In her last jump, Rypakova produced her season’s best of 14.77m outclassing Petrova by 11 cm.

“I’m extremely happy to win the bronze medal, because to be honest I didn’t even hope for one. The competition was very difficult. I have not completely recovered from giving birth to my baby boy yet. I’m so happy. I will now start preparations for Rio,” Rypakova told IAAF Offiical after her final jump.

Olga Rypakova took a break and missed the 2013 championship because of pregnancy. Earlier, Rypakova won the the IAAF Diamond League in London.

The Kazakhstani athlete solidified her comeback after the hiatus with victories in London and Beijing.

Caterine Ibargüen from Colombia won the gold of the World Championship with 14.9 meters.  Israel’s Hanna Minenko got the silver with 14.78 meters.

The 15th IAAF World Championship is taking place in Beijing from August 22 to 30.
