The recently published information on Akim (Mayor) of East-Kazakhstan oblast Berdybek Saparbayev giving Olympic champion Olga Rypakova a cabriolet turned out to be not true. Press-service of East-Kazakhstan oblast administration has refuted the rumors on the expensive gift, YK.kz writes. It turned out that the cabriolet that Olga Rypakova appeared in after her arrival to Ust-Kamenogorsk was rented. “The car was rented to give Olga an opportunity to see the people greeting her, wave back to them and to let fans see the sportswoman,” the website writes. Besides, the car is not new and is not even produced anymore. “Nobody will give such car as a present, but it is quite useful for such events,” the website states. What did Olga Rypakova get for her victory? Besides $250 thousand that she should get for her gold Olympic medal, she will get additional $50 thousand from the Akim of East-Kazakhstan oblast. Besides, according to YK-news.kz, Berdybek Saparbayev promised a scholarship of $2 thousand per month for a whole year to Rypakova. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that a new Track-and-Field Athletics Center that will be constructed in Ust-Kamenogorsk will be named after Kazakhstan Olympic champion Olga Rypakova. The Oblast administration gave Olga Rypakova the keys from a new 3-bedroom apartment after she won the world championship in 2009. In 2011 Olga received KIA Sorento made at Ust-Kamenogorsk plant Bipek-Auto.
