Kazakhstan figure skater Denis Ten is ranked 16th in International Skating Union (ISU) rating as of April 1, 2012, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the website of the International Skating Union. The skater showed the best result in his career by reaching the seventh place in the Nice World Championship. The Nice Championship was his tenth competition in this season. He also successfully performed in Minsk Junior Championship where he got the nominal bronze medal. Besides this Kazakhstan skater participated in the Four Continents Championship and won the gold medal of the Turkish Istanbul Cup. He also took part in two Grand Prix Figure Skating stages this year. Canadian Patrick Chan is the best single's figure skater among men according to the International Skating Union rating. Japanese Daisuke Takahashi follows him. Czech Michal Brezina is the third skater in the rating. Famous Russian Yevgeny Plushenko is ranked 24nd as of April 2012. Italian Carolina Kostner, the current world champion has become the best figure skater among women this season. Japanese Akiko Suzuki holds the second place and Russia Alena Leonova holds the third place. Leonova has won the first gold medal for Russia since 2005. Charlie White and Meryl Davis from the U.S. are the best ice dancing duo in the rating. They are ahead of their French rivals Nathalie Peshalat/Fabian Bourzat and Canadian Tessa Virtue/Scott Moir. German duo Aliona Savchenko/Robin Szolkowy became the leaders among sports duos. Russian Tatyana Volosozhar/Maxim Trankov and Chinese Pang Qing/Tong Jian follow them.
