Tengrinews.kz – Torekhan Sabyrkhan defeated France’s Makan Traore in the quarterfinal of the World Boxing Championship currently taking place in Liverpool, UK.

The Kazakh boxer confidently beat the Frenchman with a score of 5:0.

This victory marks the fifth guaranteed medal for Kazakhstan at the World Championship.

Earlier, Torekhan’s brother, Makhmud Sabyrkhan, also reached the semifinals after defeating a Japanese opponent.

It’s worth noting that reaching the semifinals guarantees at least a bronze medal, as there is no third-place match at the tournament.

In addition, three Kazakh female boxers have already secured medals: Natalya Bogdanova, Viktoriya Grafeyeva, and Eldana Talipova—all advanced to the semifinals.
