The Universiade competitions in Nordic skiing and Biathlon have ended in Slovakia. Anastasiya Slonova earned her second gold medal in Ladies' 15km Free Mass Start. Earlier, the 23 y.o. Ridder town native won the gold of Ladies' Sprint Free. She also earned a silver medal in Ladies' 5km Classic.
Earlier, Alina Raikova, 23, won the gold medal in Biathlon Women's 15 km Individual for finishing in 47 minutes and 29.4 seconds.
In Ladies' Relay 3 x 5km, Anna Stoyan, Viktoriya Lanchakova and Anastasiya Slonova from the Kazakhstan team took the silver losing to Russia by 43.6 seconds. France landed in the third place 1:31.1 minutes after the Kazakhstani athletes.
Also, Yevgeniy Bondarenko, Alexandr Malyshev, Mark Starostin and Yevgeniy Velichko from Kazakhstan won silver in Men's Relay 4 x 7.5km in 1:24:42.7. The Russian team snatched the gold in 1:22:49.0. And the Czech Republic completed the Men's Relay 4x 7.5 km third in 1:25:46.0.
Overall, Kazakhstan earned 7 medals (3 gold and 4 silver) in Slovakian Osrblie and retained the second place in the overall medal count. Russia leads with 39 gold medals: 14 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze medals. Kazakhstan is followed by Poland with a total of 7 medals (2 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze).

Next Grenada, Spain is hosting snow and ice sport competitions. The 17th Winter Universiade ends in Spain on February 14.
