Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan has set a new record for the number of medals won at the Paralympic Games.

According to Vesti.kz, the previous record was at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, where Kazakhstan won 5 medals (1 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze).

As of now, at Paris 2024, Kazakh athletes have also won 5 medals, including 2 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze.

The first gold medal in para-powerlifting went to David Degtyarev, the second gold was won by judoka Akmaral Nauatbek, the first silver was earned by Yerkin Gabbasov in 10-meter air rifle standing, the second silver was claimed by swimmer Nurdaulet Zhumagali, and the bronze was won by Dastan Mukashbekov in the shot put event.

Earlier, Kazakhstan taekwondo athlete Milana Krassavtseva has entered the fight for medals at the Paralympic Games.
