The Kazakh players won over the Finland team in the match for the third place with 5:3. The Finnish players were leading 2:0 in the first half. Alexander Nasonov, Leonid Bedarev and Sergei Pochkunov brough Kazakhstan forward. Then the Finns evened the score 3:3. Alexander Nasonov and the team's captain Rauan Isaliev snatched the victory in the very end of the match. It is the third time Kazakhstani bandy players win bronze at the Bandy World Championship. Previously, the team won the third place in 2003, 2005, 2012 and 2013. In the semi-finals, the Kazakhstan team lost to the Swedish team 3:4. The Russians beat the Finns 3:1 and won the final match against Sweden 3:2 remaining their last years tittle. It was the 14 Russia-Swedish final in bandy championships. The 34th World Championship was held between January 26 and February 2 in Irkutsk, Russia with several matches in Shelokhov (Irkutsk oblast).
