Karateka Yekaterina Khrupovets has brought the last medal to Kazakhstan at the Asian Games in South Korean Incheon, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
In the final of the Women’s 50 kg, the Kazakhstani fought against Tsui Ping Ku from Taipei. Khrupovets lost 3:8 to Ku. During the quarterfinal, Khrupovets won over Benish from Pakistan and over Nasrin Dousti from Iran in the semifinal fight.
The silver Khrupovets brought became the 23rd for Kazakhstan at the Asian Games.
Earlier, another karateka Khalid Khalidov won a bronze medal in the +84 kg weight league.
Overall, the Kazakhstan team won 84 medals - 28 gold, 23 silver and 33 bronze medals. This marked Kazakhstan’s best result in the history of participation at the Asian Games. The team retained its 4th place in the competition.
