Almaty Football Club Kairat managers payed $120 000 to the British coach John Gregory on termination of his contract, Tengrinews.kz reports. Khairbolat Khaidarov, head of Almaty Physical Education and Sport Department said this during the press-conference dedicated to Almaty junior players trip to Barcelona tournament. “$500 000 in compressions money is out of question. We have paid him $120 000,” Khaidarov said when answering the journalist's question: “May be it is more reasonable to fund the development of children's football instead of inviting expensive legionnaires?” Gregory signed the contract with Kairat on June 13, 2011. Gregory was assigned a task to form a new football squad that will be able to get the highest results in the premier-league. However, Almaty club led by Gregory was ranked one before last and the football club's managers decided to say good-bye to the British coach.
