The 40 y.o. Aussie boxer who recently won the IBF title said he was impressed with Golovkin’s victory at the Madison Square Garden. He added that his fellow countryman Geale was not in the best physical shape when he faced the Kazakhstani KO machine. Now Soliman (44-11, 18 KOs) wants to fight against Golovkin (30-0, 27 KOs) relying on his experience to unify the middleweight titles.

Golovkin challenged Miguel Cotto for the same reason Soliman targeted him. But Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler said that they could not bring anyone in the ring by force. In spring negotiations wih Julio Cesar Chavez Jr failed despite Team Golovkin’s readiness. So now fighting Soliman could be a possible way of unifying middleweight titles for Golovkin.
