Triple G promised a great fight and he has delivered a truly entertaining show. The undefeated Golovkin TKOed his opponent Martin Murray in the 11th round. The 32 y.o. British boxer was one of the first to stand against the unstoppable Kazakhstani for 11 rounds.
Throughout the fight, Golovkin literally staked Murray across the ring showering his opponent with attacks. Murray landed on the canvas in the fourth round after a powerful right punch from Golovkin. Despite his bloodied nose, Murray continued to counter Golovkin. But Triple G sent Murray to the canvas again, scoring his second knock down. In the 10th round, Golovkin connected another precise blow and knocked Murray down for the third time.
In the 11th round, referee Luis Pabon stepped in and stopped the round from turning into a beating.
Golovkin celebrated his 32nd victory and the 29th KO in his professional career. After the fight, Murray tweeted his congratulations to GGG and his team.
The Golovkin-Murray fight gathered a number of celebs and officials including The Prince Albert II and French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo. The loud chant “Gena! Gena!” of the Kazakhstani fans that travelled all the way to see the fight rocked the Salle des Étoiles arena.
