Designs of new outfits for Kazakhstan delegation to the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games were unveiled in Astana, Vesti.kz reports. Three finalists of the contest presented their works.
The jury, consisting of Kazakhstan Sport and Physical Education Agency officials and Olympic champions, considered 19 different designs at the first stage of the contest. Three bidder reached the final: Dou Guang Zhou Tais Petrovna from China, fashion house Aioko Bo from Atyrau city and Almaty company KazSPO-N both from Kazakhstan. The winner was chosen at the final second stage by means of universal voting.
Official representative of Sport Agency Dias Akhmetsharip said that designer of the London Olympics outfits Kuralai Nurkadilova also participated in the contest, but failed to reach the final.
The cost of one uniform kit, which includes about 30 pieces, is set at 600 thousand tenge ($4000). The total of 150 kits will be ordered for athletes, officials and service personnel for the Sochi Olympics.
