Tengrinews.kz - Deputy of the Mazhilis Yerlan Abdiyev proposed to create a new position in the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan. He voiced the corresponding proposal in his deputy request.
According to the Mazhilis member, parasport always occupies a secondary place in the sports development system, and its problems are solved on a residual basis.
"This concerns not only finances. Compare how the Olympic Games and Paralympics are covered in the media field within the framework of the state social order? Parasport is not included in the program for the development of mass sports, and it is thanks to mass sports that future champions grow up. The entire sports infrastructure is mainly focused on ordinary athletes," Abdiyev said in his deputy request.
In his opinion, in order to eliminate the existing gaps, it is necessary to ensure sustainable funding for parasport, change the remuneration system for coaches of the national team of Kazakhstan in Paralympic and Deaflympic sports, and raise the status of the Sports Training Center for Persons with Disabilities to the National Paralympic Training Center.
The deputy also proposed to ensure the availability of sports infrastructure, modernize existing sports facilities for people with disabilities, include parasport in the programs for the development of children's mass sports, reflecting this in the Concept for the Development of Mass Sports in Kazakhstan, and introduce the position of adviser on Paralympic and Deaflympic sports to the staff of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
By the way, in September last year, Kazakhstan’s national team ended the Paris Paralympic Games with a historic achievement, earning a total of 9 medals. The final medal was claimed by judoka Zharkamyrza Shukurbekov, who secured a bronze.
