Denis Ten came fourth in Minsk World Junior Figure Skating

Kazakhstan figure skater Denis Ten was one step behind the bronze award in Minsk World Junior Figure Skating, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to Sportlive.kz . Kazakhstan figure skater Denis Ten came third in Minsk World Junior Figure Skating Championship after the short program. The Kazakhstan skater scored 73.78 points. The U.S. skater Joshua Farris showed the best result with his short program scoring 75.43 points. China’s Han Yan came second with 74.88 points. But after the free skating programs on March 3 Ten failed to keep the third place that he gained after the short program. He yielded his third line to American Jason Brown. China’s skater Han Yan won the Championship. American Joshua Farris, who was the leader of the first day, won the silver medal. Three more Kazakhstan figure skaters competed in the tournament besides Denis Ten. Regina Glazman, from Kazakhstan women’s skating team became 27th according to qualification round’s results and failed to reach the main draw. Karina Uzurova paired with Ilyas Ali, Kazakhstan ice dancing duo reached the final of the tournament but became 22nd out of 25 duos after performing their short program. But to be eligible to compete further in free skating program competition Kazakhstan duo had to be among the to 20 pairs. Uzurova and Ali were fined by judges for Uzurova’s immodest dress in the middle of January in Austria Junior Olympic Games that were held in Insburg. In spite of this scores withdrawal Kazakhstan duo came sixth. Uzurova skated in another dress in Minsk Championship.
