Cycling: Winner of Tour of Almaty to get 15 thousand Euro

The prize pool of the Tour of Almaty cycling race in Kazakhstan will make 39 thousand Euro; 20 teams will compete for the prize, AFP reports. According to the Secretary General of the International Cycling Union Jack Watson, the winner of the race will get 15 thousand Euro. "It is a good and valuable prize pool that attracted attention of many good teams. Monetary awards will be given to the race winners and the cyclists who will enter the top 20 of the race. The fastest sprinter of the race will also receive monetary award," he said during the press-conference. The first race under the guidance of the International Cycling Union will take place on October 6, 2013 in Almaty city, Kazakhstan. EuroSport channel will broadcast the cycling marathon's final hour live.
