Cycling: Kazakhstan cycliests bring two medals from Asian Mountain Bike Championship

Kazakhstan cyclist Galym Akhmetov has become the Champion of Asia in men's junior cross country biking, 2wheels.kz reports. Kazakhstan's Kirill Kazantsev, 27, won silver for the second time in the men's elite cross country category. He finished 2 minutes and 1 second behind Japanese cyclist Kohei Yamamoto who won the champion title. And the track host China's Zhiqiang Duan took the bronze. 18 y.o. Galym Akhmetov had no equals on the track in the juniors' cross country category and won gold. He finished with a small advantage of mere 6 seconds ahead of his closest Chinese competitor Bigcheng Gu. Zhiqiang Wang, also of China, won bronze. The 19th Asian Mountain Bike Championships and the 5th Junior Mountain Bike Championships were held in Chengdu, Sichuan province in China on May 11 - 15. The event gathered 110 participants from 15 countries and regions including China, Korea, Iran, Japan and Hong Kong and Kazakhstan.
