Tengrinews.kz - The meeting between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the medalists of Kazakhstan's Olympic team has been postponed. This was reported by the advisor and press secretary of the Head of State, Berik Uali.
Earlier, the President signed a decree awarding state honors to the medalists and coaching staff of the Paris Olympics.
"It was planned that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev would meet with them today. Unfortunately, several athletes were diagnosed with COVID-19, which led to the meeting being postponed. We wish our athletes a speedy recovery. The meeting will definitely take place and is scheduled for the end of August at the Akorda," said Berik Uali.
Members of Kazakhstan's Olympic team have returned from Paris with COVID-19.
The Kazakhstan Olympic team won seven medals at the Games in Paris. The only gold medal went to judoka Yeldos Smetov, who became the best in the category up to 60 kilograms.
