A union representing the artists involved in the ceremony's preparation has sent a letter to the organizers expressing dissatisfaction with their pay. The performers have refused to participate in rehearsals until their demands are met.

"Currently, we are in the final rehearsals for the ceremony, and it is with regret that we announce a strike notice for the show on July 26, 2024, as well as for the subsequent rehearsals of the Paralympic Games opening ceremony," stated the union, as reported by The Mirror.

The event, scheduled to take place on the River Seine, is expected to feature around 3,000 performers and 400 dancers. With only one week left until the Games begin, the strike poses a significant challenge to the opening festivities.
