Tengrinews.kz - Members of Kazakhstan's Olympic team have returned from Paris with COVID-19.

"COVID-19 has been detected in three medalists and two coaches from our team. Their PCR tests came back positive. They are currently isolated and receiving treatment. The illness is mild, and we wish them a speedy recovery. The virus has not been found in other team members," said Dias Akhmetsharip, advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Sports.

The Kazakh team won seven medals at the Paris Olympics, including a gold medal for judoka Eldos Smetov, silver medals for gymnast Nariman Kurbanov, Greco-Roman wrestler Demeu Zhadraev, and boxer Nurbek Oralbai, and bronze medals for shooters Alexandra Lee and Islam Satpaev, as well as boxer Nazym Kyzaibai and judoka Gusman Kyrgyzbayev.
