5 Kazakhs reached semifinals of Junior Boxing Worlds in Astana

Five Kazakh boxes made it into the semifinals of the Junior World Boxing Championship in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Boxing Federation’s press-service. In the quarter final Dautbek Kauyrgeldy beat Ozan Khasan from Turkey 21:18 in 63 kg category. Bekzhan Kibitkaliyev had even a more successful quarterfinal fight against Arsen Mustafa from Romania 13:6 in 54 kg category. Ayan Kalybekov attained victory over his Georgian competitor Jemal Shalamberidzhe 8:14 in 60 kg categoty. Askar Duisaly and Didar Tolegen also won their quarterfinal fights. Boxers from 48 countries took part in the competition in Astana. Only 22 countries have their representatives in semifinals. Russia is so far the most successful with 8 boxers in the semifinals. Ukraine has 6, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have 5 each. There are 4 representatives of South Korean in the semifinals as well. Today, July 28 is the days of rest at the event.
