Kazakhstani figure skater Elisabeth Tursynbayeva, 14, has won the NRW Trophy 2014 in Dortmund, Germany, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
The young figure skater was leading after her short program with 58.72 points. After the free skating program, Tursynbayeva earned 117.4 points and won the competition with 176.12 points overall. Anni Jarvenpaa from Finland took the second place with 141.21, while a German ice skater Lea Johanna Dastich landed on the third place earning 133.26 points.
Earlier Tursynbayeva won the International competition in Italy Merano Cup among the Junior Ladies. The talented ice skater from Kazakhstan earned 158.59 points leaving behind Lea Serna from France with 119.96 and Kristina Isaev from Germany with 119.67.
At the competition in the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Aichi, Japan, Tursynbayeva was on the third place, and the Kazakhstani also landed on the third place at the Drezden ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Germany.
Currently, Tursynbayeva is training with a Canadian coach Brian Orcer. Previously, she trained and lived in Moscow.
The NRW Trophy 2014 International Competition for Figure Skating and Pair Skating took place in Dortmund, Germany from November 26th to November 30th 2014.
