Zhansaya Abdumalik, 11-y.o. Kazakhstan chess-player and four-time world champion, became fourth among adults in the Singapore Tournament, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing chess-player’s farther Daniyar Amirov. Abdumalik played nine games. She won five, tied one and lost three games. “I was against Zhansaya's participation in the tournament from the very beginning. She had a very tough schedule of tournaments in 2011 and was very tired. However, we have received a personal invitation from Leong Ignatius, World Chess Federation's (FIDE) secretary general and it felt embarrassing to decline it,” Amirov said. Abdumalik failed to gain the required number of points in the tournament to become the youngest Grandmaster in the world. The chess-player is going to have some rest during the next three weeks. Then she will take part in the Moscow Open tournament where she will compete among adults again.
