Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a phone call with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev on December 24 to convey birthday wishes, according to the Akorda press service.
President Tokayev congratulated President Aliyev, wishing him continued success in his state activities for the benefit of the Azerbaijani people.
"The Head of State commended Ilham Aliyev's significant contribution to strengthening Kazakh-Azerbaijani relations. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the strong momentum in bilateral cooperation and discussed prospects for deepening their strategic partnership in trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields," the Akorda statement said.
The presidents also focused on implementing agreements reached during high-level reciprocal visits.
Earlier this year, Tokayev hosted Aliyev in Akorda during the latter’s visit to participate in the 24th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
During their talks in Astana, the two leaders reviewed the progress of joint projects in investment, industry, energy, transportation, and logistics.
Aliyev expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed Azerbaijan's commitment to strengthening ties with Kazakhstan across all areas of bilateral cooperation.
