Tengrinews.kz - The President of Kazakhstan has signed the law "On Ratifying the Agreement on Cooperation Among CIS Member States in Combating Corruption," according to the Akorda press service.
Earlier, it was reported that the ratification of this agreement would establish an additional international legal mechanism for the recovery of illegally acquired and transferred assets.
The agreement outlines key areas and forms of cooperation in locating and recovering proceeds of corruption, apprehending and extraditing individuals involved in corruption-related crimes, including the use of information systems. It also ensures legal protection and support for individuals and organizations engaged in anti-corruption efforts.
