Figure skating stars raised Kazakhstan flag during Ilya Averbukh’s ice show in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports. The figure skaters presented a 3-hour show in Kazakhstan. Young skaters and Kazakhstan figure skating rising star Malika Nulembayeva opened the show. They were followed by Russian champions Margarita Drobyazko and Povilas Vanagas, Tatyana Navka and Roman Kostomarov, Yelena Leonova and Andrei Khvalko. The most impressive skating was shown by Maria Petrova and Aleksei Tikhonov who chose Kelshi Zhanyma song by Kazakhstan’s Arnau duet for their program and Tatyana Totmyanina and Maksim Marinin with Roza Rymbayeva’s Love Came song on the background. Kazakhstan music impressed Olympic champion Aleksei Yagudin, who showed two programs: first energetic skating accompanied by a live performance of Ulytau ethno-rock band and the second program accompanied by Zhamilya Serkibayeva’s violin. The audience accepted the skating starts very well: they laughed at the funny acrobatic skating of Vladimir Bessedin and Aleksei Polischuk, admired zombie-looks of Albena Denkova and Maksim Stavitskiy. In the end every sportsman skated around the rink with Kazakhstan flag in hand. The stars congratulated Kazakhstan residents on the comming Independence Day and wished further prosperity and success in sport.
