Kazakh tourists ranked the most generous in Azerbaijan

Tengrinews.kz – Kazakh travelers outspent visitors from the UAE, Turkey and the UK during trips to Azerbaijan this year.

At a press conference, Emil Zeynalov, Mastercard’s country manager for Azerbaijan, said the nation welcomed tourists from 178 countries in 2025. The top five by visitor numbers were Turkey, the UAE, the UK, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.

However, Zeynalov noted that Kazakh tourists fall into the premium segment in terms of spending, making them the highest spenders among all international visitors.

According to Azerbaijan’s State Border Service, nearly 1.5 million foreigners visited the country in the first seven months of 2025. Over 59,000 of them were from Kazakhstan — about 4 percent of the total. This figure is 20.6 percent higher than during the same period last year.

This summer, social media feeds were filled with videos of Kazakh travelers enjoying Baku under hashtags like #BakuIsCalling, with clips garnering tens of thousands of views. Users shared impressions of the capital’s landmarks and lively atmosphere.

Locals, in turn, highlighted the warm attitude toward guests from Kazakhstan.
