The times when poets sang praise to the beauty of Kazakh girls may be long gone, but the timeless beauty remains. The Miss USSR 2014 has gathered beauties from 15 post Soviet republics to compete for the crown of “the fairest of them all”. Katerina Butseva, a representative of the organizers of the beauty pageant talked to Tengrinews about the upcoming final.
A Kazakh belle Maiya Aitben has charmed the most number of online voters and got 722 votes so far. In the semi finals of the beauty pageant, Maiya will compete against 7 other Kazakh girls. The organizers of the contests are planning to set another online voting.

She plans to continue her education in Italy. “I always wanted to take part in a beauty contest, and so I submitted the application, went to the interview and quickly ran to the casting. It is always nice to see Kazakhstanis so far from home and spend time with great organizers who are always happy to see you,” Maiya said.
The main goal of the contest is to unite all the representatives of the post-Soviet space who live and work in the United Kingdom. The Final Show will take place in one of the large concert halls of London with thousands of visitors, media and celebrities. The prizes for the beauties include a shopping spree, designer dresses and a romantic trip.
