Double-decker sightseeing buses cruise Astana

Double-decker sightseeing buses have started cruising Astana city, Tengrinews.kz reports.The project Astana Bus Tours was implemented by the Local Tourism Development Association of Kazakhstan Minin Yelim (My Country) in cooperation with Astana city authorities and the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan.Two double-decker buses, similar to the famous London red double-deckers are cruising at a regular intervals along fixed route. The excursion starts from the Baiterek monument, then the passengers can visit the Central Square of Astana city, Children's Palace, Zher Ana Monument, President's Cultural Center, Duman entertainment center that houses of city's aquarium, the Museum of the First President of Kazakhstan, Arailym park, Khan Shatyr mall and KazMediaOrtalygy media center. This kind of buses are popular among tourist in western countries, and they are largely viewed as a tourism symbol of large cities and world class capitals."The hop-on hop-off double-decker bus tours provide an unlimited number of get ons and get offs. After purchasing a ticket a person can get on and off the bus at any stop to enjoy the sites during the whole day. Tourist can get off the bus at an interesting place explore it at leisure and then continue the tour. The buses will also be equipped with audio guides in the Kazakh, Russian and English languages," the association said. The ticket will cost 2 400 tenge ($16) for adults. The cost for students, pensioners and participants of the Great Patriotic War will be 1 700 tenge ($11). The ticket for 5 to 10-y.o. children will cost 1200 tenge ($8) and for kids under 5 the tour will be free of charge. Professional guides will working at the buses.Earlier the president of Kazakhstan Local Tourism Development Association Gaukhar Zhenisbek said that Astana would introduce double-decker sightseeing buses for tourists and the buses would be an attraction for both foreigners and Kazakhstan residents.
