Almaty's 13-y.o. equilibrist wins gold at circus festival Echo of Asia
Kazakhstan's circus artist Anna Demidova has won the gold prize of the VI International Circus Festival Echo of Asia held in Astana, Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports.Being the contest's youngest participant the 13-y.o. equilibrist impressed the jury with her fascinating performance of complex tricks. "Anna amazed every single member of the jury. The girl's show was completely unique and extraordinary, because she perfectly performed the most complex tricks that few equilibrists in the world are able to complete," art director of Kazakh National Circus Walikhan Chalabayev said.Demidova started to do gymnastics when she was 6 years old. The gifted balance mistress has been receiving invitations to most famous circus competitions. According to her art director, the girl has been dreaming of winning the world's most prestigious circus festival held in Monte-Carlo, France. Circus artists from nine different countries participated in the Echo of Asia festival this year, including U.S., China, Belarus, Ukraine and Russia’s artists.Polish elephant trainers led by Pan Yulik won the Grand Prix. The program included unusual air gymnasts, exotic animals, jugglers, acrobats and clowns. The festival’s jury included leading circus artists from Italy, Germany, Latvia, China and CIS countries.
