The celebrations will start with the opening of the International Festival of Contemporary Art Arbat Fest-5. Residents and visitors of the city will be able to enjoy a great array of events, starting from art exhibitions, master-classes to outdoors musical and theatrical performances. This year, a unique multisensory exhibition Van Gogh – Revived Canvases is take place in August. New technologies bring Van Gogh’s art pieces closer to the audience showing them from different perspectives and letting them experience the revived pictures in a completely new way.
Starting from September 5 to 12, the annual Puppet Theatre Festival of CIS countries will open its doors for kids and adults alike. Traditionally, Alma-Ata – My First Love festival welcomes lovers of retro music on September 6. On September 10-12, the Orchestra Parade concerts will take place in the open air.
As a part of the September festivities, the Omsk State Academic Drama Theatre will come with a premier of the Magic Flute fairy tail. The staging will take place at the Academic Russian Theater for Children and Youth on September 15. Meanwhile, Abai’s Ballet and Opera House has prepared the Abai opera, staged by Andrea Cigni and Benito Leonori.
Film lovers are welcome to join the Eurasia Film Festival that will take place from September 15 to 21. As for music lovers, on September 13, a new TV channel Gakku TV organizes a concert. Almaty in My Heart song contests starts on September 17. 2014 Muz Zone music awards open on September 20.
The celebration of the City of Apples cannot go without the Apple Fest on September 21. Finally, fireworks on September 21 will conclude the festivities.
