Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted key government projects using artificial intelligence technologies, citing Akorda.

The Head of State noted that, according to the World Bank, the digital economy already accounts for more than 15 percent of global GDP. These figures indicate a fundamental shift, where competition has moved from goods markets to data and standards markets.

“This transformation has only partially affected our country so far. Last month, Kazakhstan made an important step in this direction by successfully launching the unified customs clearance platform KEDEN. Now the time for processing a declaration is less than one minute, and most documents are handled automatically. At the same time, a national logistics platform Smart Cargo is being created with direct access to 127 data sources. The platform will allow the introduction of a mechanism for accelerated border crossing for bona fide companies,” the Head of State said at the second meeting of the Council for the Development of Artificial Intelligence.

He also noted that fundamental changes have taken place in the fiscal sphere. The integrated tax administration system has reduced document processing time from one hour to one minute, simplifying services for two million taxpayers.

“A major achievement was the launch of the Smart Data Finance platform, which aggregates analytical data from 78 sources — from mobile transfers to air travel. Online budget monitoring makes it possible to prevent risky payments worth hundreds of billions of tenge. Based on the national goods catalog, which contains more than 23 million items, a predictive and analytical model of public procurement is being developed, which will allow saving more than 200 billion tenge annually,” the President said.

During the event, the Head of State also emphasized that artificial intelligence is becoming the backbone of the new global economy, while big data is a critically important resource. In this regard, Kazakhstan considers the development of artificial intelligence as a key strategic priority.
