Pavel Durov announces launch of new AI-powered network

Tengrinews.kz — Telegram founder Pavel Durov has unveiled plans for a new decentralized network called Cocoon (Confidential Compute Open Network), which will combine artificial intelligence with the TON blockchain. Speaking at the Blockchain Life 2025 forum in Dubai, Durov said the project will launch in November, RBC reports.

Durov explained that the world is “moving in a strange direction”, with people increasingly losing their digital freedoms, and emphasized that decentralized technologies are the only way to preserve them. With a touch of irony, he added that he had considered naming the project Private AI Network (P.A.I.N.), a word that translates to “pain”.

According to the presentation, Cocoon’s infrastructure will rely on GPU miners who will earn rewards in Toncoin (TON). Telegram, in turn, will help generate demand and create public awareness for the project.

The platform aims to allow developers to use affordable AI tools, while giving users the ability to interact with artificial intelligence anonymously and securely.

The Blockchain Life 2025 forum, held on October 28–29 in Dubai, brings together leading figures from the crypto industry, including developers, investors, and financial experts. Organizers expect more than 15,000 participants, with sessions focused on blockchain trends, Web3 innovation, and AI integration.

Earlier this month, Pavel Durov attended the Digital Bridge 2025 forum in Astana, where he met with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to discuss cooperation in education, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
