Tengrinews.kz - Cameras with video analytics and artificial intelligence systems are set to be implemented in military units in Kazakhstan. This innovation will allow for the documentation of all incidents occurring on-site, as reported by Deputy Defense Minister Darkhan Akhmediev.

According to Akhmediev, the cameras will be able to identify various incidents, including gatherings of people, fights, sudden movements, leaving a location, and unauthorized access to weapon storage and supply depots.

In addition, the cameras will monitor daily routines in the army, including attendance checks of military personnel. All this data, as stated by the deputy minister, will be automatically transmitted to higher authorities, including the National Defense Management Center, "to ensure a complete understanding of the current status of each military unit."

"We are working only with Kazakhstani companies that specialize in this field and have already conducted several pilot projects. Each decision has demonstrated its strengths, and we have combined them to create common technical requirements. We are currently determining the mechanism for purchasing software.

However, software alone will not solve all the tasks: it is necessary to upgrade the IT infrastructure, purchase servers for data storage, and modernize the cameras. We have a lot of cameras, but not all of them are digital, and we plan to replace the analog ones. There are also 'dead' zones without video surveillance that we need to equip with cameras for complete coverage," noted Darkhan Akhmediev.

He added that 300 million tenge will be required for the software acquisition.
