Orthodox women clinics providing pregnancy related medical services will open up in Kazakhstan, head of Orthodox educational center “Life” protopriest Maksim Obuhov is quoted by Izvestiya newspaper as saying. It is planned to open 30 such medical centers in several cities of Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. According to protopriest Maksim it will be impossible to sign up of an abortion in these clinics except for cases when the pregnancy poses a threat to the mother’s life. All the other services won’t be any difference from regular women clinics. The priest said that these clinics won’t have “orthodox doctors” working in them, but “good doctors” of Orthodox confession. “Any women will be able to turn to this orthodox clinic without specifying her religious views,” Obukhov added. He promised that prices in these Orthodox centers will be “much lower than in regular private clinics.”
