Tengrinews.kz - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan commented on the blocking of Instagram in the country. He spoke of "digital fascism" in connection with the death of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Palestinian movement Hamas, citing TRT Haber.

The Turkish leader made this statement while speaking at a human rights training program.

"Social media is behaving like a mafia, blocking photos of Palestinian martyrs and covering itself with freedom. I believe that criminals against humanity should be held accountable for their actions in the courts, not in parliament. Leaving those responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people unpunished and meeting them with honors is inhuman and short-sighted," Erdogan said during his speech.

Erdogan noted that Ismail Haniyeh was committed to the cause of Palestine, and there were plans to discuss him in parliament. After his death, they declared a one-day mourning period and participated in his funeral in Qatar.

"The murder of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran deeply wounded the Palestinian people and encouraged Netanyahu. Instead of the expected ceasefire, a negotiator was killed, which is abnormal," Erdogan said.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan also extended his condolences to Ismail Haniyeh's family and the Palestinian people.
