Tokayev offers advice to young people spending hours online

Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed young Kazakhstani citizens who spend long hours on the internet, urging them to stay optimistic and proactive even in challenging times.

Speaking at the ceremony honoring the winners of the “Altyn Sapa,” “Paryz,” and “Best Goods of Kazakhstan” awards, Tokayev also praised the role of entrepreneurs in a period of global economic uncertainty, noting their “creativity and patriotism” as essential qualities.

“In such times, the hard work of our entrepreneurs and their strong faith in the country’s future are of great importance. Ultimately, producing quality goods and providing quality services demonstrate competitiveness and, most importantly, make a real contribution to Kazakhstan’s prosperity. As President, I have deep respect for the entrepreneurial class, our national bourgeoisie, including — if not primarily — those sitting in this hall today,” Tokayev said.

He added that he fully trusts the professional and moral qualities of Kazakhstani business leaders.

“You are true patriots of Kazakhstan, as you work tirelessly for the good of our state and its economic potential. You are people driven toward positive results and success, and therefore you yourselves embody an optimistic attitude. I am confident that good fortune will be on your side,” he stated.

Tokayev noted that throughout history, success has “avoided the idle, the unmotivated, the envious, the spiteful — those who radiate pessimism at every turn.”

“This is something young people who spend hours online should especially know and remember. As Eastern wisdom says, ‘even in the most unfavorable situation, great opportunities lie hidden.’ One must not lose heart or fall into depression, but instead look for new opportunities to achieve new success,” the President said.
