Tengrinews.kz – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Rwandan President Paul Kagame, citing the Akorda press service.
Addressing Paul Kagame, Tokayev called his visit historic and said it opens a new chapter in Kazakhstan-Rwanda relations.
“I believe this visit and the upcoming negotiations are very important in giving an additional boost to our bilateral cooperation. We view Rwanda very positively. Your economy is on the rise, and the country has achieved impressive economic growth. We need to expand contacts, as Kazakhstan holds leading positions in the region in terms of GDP volume, IT development, and artificial intelligence. These are priority areas for our mutually beneficial cooperation. Therefore, I attach great importance to your visit,” Tokayev said.
Rwandan President expressed gratitude to Tokayev for the warm welcome and expressed his intention to strengthen bilateral ties.
“Thank you for the kind invitation to visit Kazakhstan. This is my second visit; the last time I was here was in 2015. We look forward to exploring opportunities for further joint work for the benefit of both countries with you and your team,” Kagame emphasized.
The parties discussed prospects for developing Kazakh-Rwandan relations in political, trade-economic, transport-logistics, agricultural sectors, and digitalization. The presidents exchanged views on regional and international issues.
