Tokayev calls for new oil field discoveries and AI-driven modernization

Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed Kazakhstan’s oil and gas sector to focus on opening new fields and embracing technological modernization, including the use of artificial intelligence.

Speaking at a ceremony in Akorda, Tokayev emphasized that the domestic oil and gas industry “must meet modern standards”.

“It is crucial to introduce clean and advanced technologies. Geological exploration should be intensified, with an emphasis on discovering new deposits. To withstand global competition, we need qualified specialists — educated young professionals must be attracted to the industry, and human potential must be fully utilized. Educational programs should be updated, and research centers must be improved. Achieving these goals will help us build a Fair, Strong, Clean and Prosperous Kazakhstan,” the president said.

Earlier, Tokayev congratulated oil and gas workers and underlined the sector’s strategic importance for the national economy.
