Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alibek Bakaev, addressed questions regarding the deportation of Kazakh nationals residing illegally in the United States.

Speaking to journalists in the Senate, Bakaev stated that while there are no official figures available, the ministry is maintaining communication with US authorities.

"If deportations occur, this is not some kind of secret operation. There will be an official exchange of information, our embassy will receive updates and inform the relevant authorities in Kazakhstan. As of now, we have no official information regarding Kazakh citizens deported from the US," he said.

How many Kazakhs are in the US illegally?

Previously, Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov revealed that around 3,600 Kazakh nationals are officially registered with the consulate in the US. However, the exact number of those residing there illegally remains unclear.
