Kazakhstan President’s Advisor Yermukhamet Yertysbayev thinks that talking about creation of a Eurasian Parliament is premature until the work of the Customs Union is settled, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports. “How can we talk about the Eurasian Parliament if we have not fully settled the work of the Customs Union yet! If you see the list of administrative barriers in mutual food trade, your hair will stand on end!” he said in his interview to Vremya magazine on September 20. Yertysbayev stressed that when speaking of creation of supranational structure chairman of Russian State Duma Sergey Naryshkin “must have expressed his personal opinion, but evidently the union parliament is the issues of a remote future”. “On the other hand, it is also evident that the nominal status of the European Parliament in the EU and lack of a common legislative and legal space, mutual and solidary guarantees of bank deposits have raised a bunch of problems in the EU,” President’s Advisor said. Earlier Secretary of Nur Otan party Yerlan Karin told in an interview to Vremya magazine that the idea of creation of the Eurasian Parliament was unrealizable and stressed that such supranational structure could threaten Kazakhstan’s sovereignty. Meanwhile, chairman of Duma’s Сommission for CIS Affairs and Relations with Fellow Nationals Leonid Slutskiy expressed his disagreement with the opinion that the idea of establishment of the Eurasian Parliament is impossible to implement.
