President of Russia Vladimir Putin is arriving to Kazakhstan with an official visit on October 15, Tengrinews reports citing Akorda.

President Putin is meeting President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in Astana to discuss trade, economic and investment cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan on bilateral basis and in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). In addition, the presidents will discuss regional security.

Putin is also participating in the CIS Council of Heads of States and Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meetings on October 16. Putin will be accompanied by a Russian delegation in Astana.

Vedomosti reported the arrival of the First Vice PM Igor Shuvalov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, Ambassador of Russia in Kazakhstan Mikhail Bocharnikov, Minister of Economic Development Alexey Ulyukayev, Vice Minister of Defense Yuriy Borisov and General Director of Rostoma Sergey Kirienko as part of the Russian delegation.

According to the Assistant in Foreign Policy Yuriy Ushakov, three documents will be signed as a part of Putin's visit to Kazakhstan.

One of the documents is a protocol to amend the protocol agreement between Kazakhstan and Russia on demarcation of the Caspian Sea bed in the north. The protocol provisions for development of regulations concerning the Tsentralnaya oil-bearing structure.

In addition, they will sign an intergovernmental agreement on the protocol for coordination of rocket launches from the Dombrovskiy District in the Orenburg Oblast. Russia aims to rent the area in Kazakhstan for $460 thousand annually in case it needs the area as an impact zone for separating parts from its rockets. According to Ushakov, the document will contribute to the development of cooperation in space and science.

Finally, the third agreement to be signed will deal with aviation search and rescue. The intergovernmental agreement provisions for a 24/7 search and rescue service.

During the CIS Council of Heads of States meeting, the participants will discuss aspects of combating the terrorist threat, ensuring security and public order and cooperation of law enforcement agencies of member countries. Provision of humanitarian help will also be discussed at the meeting. In terms of the organizational part, the participants of the meeting will discuss the CIS chairmanship for 2016.

The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will gather presidents of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia to discuss development of integration processes as a part of the Council. The agenda of the meeting also includes international activities and strengthening cooperation with other international bodies and countries.
