President of Russia Validmir Putin told Nursultan Nazarbayev that in 2012 Kazakhstan invested $700 million more into Russia than Russia did into Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports. “The investments are growing too. In 2012 Russia invested almost 1 billion dollars into Kazakhstan, while Kazakhstan invested 1.7 billion dollars into the Russian economy,” said Putin at the meeting with Nazarbayev before the 10th Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum discussion in Yekaterinburg, Russia. “As you see we are mutually enriching our countries,” noted the President of Kazakhstan. According to Nursultan Nazarbayev, the near-border regions account for 70 percent of the mutual trade between Kazakhstan and Russia. He also said that Yekaterinburg, being an industrial hub in Russia, presents great opportunities for cooperation with Kazakhstan. According to Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan can supply raw materials such as ferroalloys and bauxite. He also called to improve accuracy of the Russian Statistics Agency. By Renat Tashkinbayev
