President Nursultan Nazarbayev participated in the celebrations of the Day of the Capital on July 6, Tengrinews reports citing Akorda.
In his speech, the Head of the State emphasized that Astana in the only capital in the world that was built in 10 years in the 21st century.
“Creation of Astana is closely connected with the fate of the nation and chronicles of its independence. In this capital, we opened a new page in the history of our nation and look into the future with confidence. Astana became an important symbol of statehood and sovereignty. All of these are results of our joint hard work,” Nazarbayev said.
The President wished prosperity, good health and success to all Kazakhstanis.
In addition, the President granted Honorary Freeman titles to the Director of the Contemporary Art Museum Nelly Shibrina, the Director of the Astana Opera Tolegen Mukhamedzhanov and the President of Sembol Insaat Fettakh Tamindzhe.
