Nursultan Nazarbayev tagged Malaysia Kazakhstan’s key partner in South-East Asia, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s press-service. On April 17 the President met with Malaysia’s former Prime-Minister Mahathir bin Mohamad.
“We closely watch Malaysia’s success in building a modern, science-driven economy and creating an effective infrastructure for development of innovations. Kazakhstan wants to further develop comprehensive and mutually-profitable cooperation with your country,” Kazakhstan President’s press-service writes.
In his turn Modamad highly evaluated Kazakhstan’s achievements, noting the country’s unique experience in ensuring interethnic and inter-confessional accord.
“Kazakhstan is a leading country in Central Asia, giving all young nations an example of balanced and long-sighted approach in implementation of political and economic reforms. In short time your country has achieved outstanding results. I am sure that the transition from resource-based to high-technology economy, that you have initiated, will make Kazakhstan one of the most successful countries of the 21st century,” the President’s press-service cites ex-PM of Malaysia as saying.
Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Malaysia on April 17. He already met with Malaysian Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Labor.
