New President of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange appointed

A new President of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) has been appointed, Tengrinews reports citing the KASE. "The Board of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange terminated the term of KASE President Azamat Joldasbekov on March 5, 2014," the KASE website reads. Maksat Kabashev was appointed the new President of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange for a 3-year term. The new head of the Stock Exchange of Kazakhstan graduated from Moscow State Forest University in 1991 and got an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2004. Maksat Kabashev used to Chair the Board of Alliance Bank, Distressed Assets Fund and Investment Fund of Kazakhstan during his career. He served as Vice Chairman of Kazyna Sustainable Development Fund and held leading positions in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan and the National Innovative Fund. According to the KASE, its Board includes four members: Maksat Kabashev (President); Idel Sabitov (1st Vice-President), Andrey Tsalyuk (Vice-President) and Natalya Khoroshevskaya (Vice-President) starting from March 5, 2014. "Azamat Joldasbekov was appointed a freelance aide to Kairat Kelimbetov, Governor of the National Bank, for securities market development and KASE," the stock exchange reported. Azamat Joldasbekov used to be President of the KASE in 2002-2009 and was re-elected to the position in June 29, 2013 replacing Kadyrzhan Damitov. By Azhar Ashirova
