Over $160 billion of foreign investments have been attracted so far. Thanks to quickly performed reforms and efforts of the whole community Kazakhstan in 20 years managed to achieve the success that took other countries many decades to achieve. Over the short period of the country’s history its GDP per capita grew from $700 to $12 thousand,” Kazakhstan President said. According to him, Kazakhstan retains a positive growth dynamics that has not withered even in the crisis years of 2008-2009. Last year the country’s GDP grew 7.5 percent. Two years ago Kazakhstan started implementing the state-run Program of Accelerated Industrial-Innovative Development. Thanks to this program, by 2015 Kazakhstan is going to increase theGDP by 50 percent from the level of 2008, while the share of non-energy export has to reach 40 percent in the total volume of export. “Along with Russia and Belarus, Kazakhstan may be used as an economic hub to cover the gigantic market of 170 million people. We are eliminating many customs barriers, lowering cost of cargoes transit and simplifying access to infrastructure of the three member-countries. The common market with the cimulative GDP of around $7 trillion is being created. Our plans on further modernization of the economy consider the need for foreign investments and technologies. In this relation we expect a more active participation of Czech business in the process of implementation of the industrial-innovative programs of development of Kazakhstan’s economy and in modernization of Kazakhstan’s industry. I am confident that Czech companies have something to offer in terms of experience and technologies,” Nazarbayev added. According to Kazakhstan President, the business forum is a good opportunity for the parties to establish mutually beneficial cooperation. “We are interested in Czech experience of creation of technological and industrial parks, implementation of mutually beneficial investment projects. Establishing direct contacts between small and medium businesses is one of the effective tools in development of the bilateral economic relations. I hope that the agreements reached and signed during the visit will boost development of the trade and economic relations between our countries. I consider signing the agreements worth over $250 million during Kazakhstan-Czech business forum the main result of my visit,” Nazarbayev noted.
