“Throughout two millennia the Christmas holiday has been a symbol of faith in kindness and justice, mercy and forgiveness that fills the hearts of believers with joy and hope. It is the time for kind thoughts and good deeds, time to care for people who need help,” the Kazakh President said in his statement.
President Nazarbayev noted that the Orthodox community continued the tradition of their responsible service in Kazakhstan - it helped people find faith, join the spiritual roots, thereby strengthening the society's moral foundations and traditional family values.
“Orthodox Christians are making a significant contributiion to maintaining interfaith harmony, social stability and peace in our country. Today, people of Kazakhstan, regardless of religion or ethnicity, share with each other the joy of all the major religious holidays," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
He wished health, buoyancy and success in all good endeavors. “Let happiness, well-being, peace and prosperity be present in your homes,” he concluded.
